Updates

Hello everyone!

How are you doing?
Today I'll just share with you my newest completed sewing projects!
I was going to show these along with a full wardrobe post, but taking nice pictures of my clothes is proving to be very hard so I kind of gave up on that... Maybe next time?

Hoje vou apenas compartilhar com vocês meus projetos mais recentes!
Eu ia mostrar estes junto com um post de guarda-roupas completo, mas tirar fotos boas das minhas roupas está bem difícil então eu meio que desisti... Talvez na próxima?


First, my handmade Angelic Pretty inspired OP. I had shown you the sheer textured fabric before, I used it for the sleeves and ruffles. You can't really see, but there is lace and ruffles on the top. The buttons are gold and shaped like flowers. I'm really happy with this piece! I wore it with a casual coord to watch The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug. 

Primeiro, meu OP handmade inspirado na Angelic Pretty. Eu tinha mostrado esse tecido transparente texturizado aqui antes, usei ele nas mangas e babados. Não dá pra ver muito bem, mas tem renda e babadinhos na parte de cima. Os botões são dourados em forma de flor. Fiquei muito satisfeita com essa peça! Usei num coord casual para ir assistir O Hobbit: A Desolação de Smaug em Campinas.



Next is bonnets! This is the first one I ever made, with black and white striped fabric and various types of lace. It has a "stiff" brim with wire to keep it up, removable bow and rose (using my original print, matches the blog theme!). It's a half-bonnet, that ties up under the chin.

Agora são os bonnets! Esse é o primeiro que fiz, com listras preto-e-branco e vários tipos de renda. Tem uma aba "rígida", com armação para mantê-la em pé, laço e rosa removíveis (usando minha estampa original, combina com o tema do blog!). É um half-bonnet - ou seja, com a parte de trás descoberta - e amarra no queixo.





My second bonnet is white and cream, with a Triple Fortune inspired lace "veil". The outside is velvet, and the bow and flowers are removable. It is also a half-bonnet that ties under the chin, but this one doesn't have wire on the brim. It stands up nicely on its own, though!

I wanted to make more bonnets to train but realistically speaking I won't wear them that much...

Meu segundo bonnet é branco e creme, com um "veuzinho" de renda inspirada nas peças da Triple Fortune. Por fora é de veludo, e o laço e flores são removíveis. Também é um half-bonnet que amarra no queixo, mas este não tem armação na aba. Fica de pé sozinho até que direito, mesmo assim!

Queria fazer mais bonnets pra treinar mas sento realista não vou ter oportunidade de usar muito...

Coordenando: Meias diferentes!

Ooi pessoal!

Espero que tenham passado bem esse final de ano. Desculpem por ter demorado tanto para postar; tinha planejado começar o ano com meu primeiro tradicional post de guarda-roupa em janeiro, mas tive probleminhas técnicos então este post vai primeiro!

Tempos atrás meias desparelhadas eram relacionadas a Punk lolita e roupas mal-montadas. Com a recente moda das meias-calças, a Grimoire e marcas lolita começaram a lançar meias-calças com desenhos assimétricos, trazendo de volta as meias diferentes de um jeito muito mais elegante.

Esse post é pra quem quer testar essa tendência com meias (curtas, no joelho, 7/8...)! Você pode expertimentar com peças que já tem, misturar, combinar e descombinar!


♦ Contrastando

Um dos modos de fazer isso é usar meias de cores únicas contrastantes! Esse coord brilhante usa os clássicos branco e preto.

Funciona particularmente bem porque a roupa em si tem bastante preto e branco lado a lado, então as meias acabam sendo uma extensão disso.

As peças em vermelho e a estampa de losangos dão um toque circense, que combina muito bem com as meias desparelhadas.

As cores das meias diferentes devem complementar uma à outra e o look como um todo.

♦ Misturando Estampas
Misturar estampas deve ser feito com cuidado para que a roupa não fique com informação demais - a não ser que a intenção seja essa!

Se o vestido tem uma estampa, uma das meias pode combinar perfeitamente com ela, e a outra pode ter uma estampa mais genérica.

Ou ambas as meias podem ter estampas simples e tradicionais (por exemplo, pois e listrado) nas mesmas cores.

Cores parecidas ou idênticas são o principal. A única coisa a se evitar são duas estampas muito intrincadas.

♦ Suavizando

Se as meias que escolheu têm uma presença muito forte, com uma estampa audaciosa, você pode escolher suavizá-la.

É muito simples e mantém o efeito interessante, sem ficar muito pesado ou distrair do resto da roupa.

Tudo a fazer é usar um pé com a estampa principal, e o outro com uma cor lisa, sem estampa.

Essa cor deve ser ou a cor de fundo da estampa na outra meia, ou a cor principal da estampa em si, para que as duas ainda funcionem juntas.

Como pode ver, meias sem combinar funcional com qualquer sub-estilo Lolita. Então não se leve muito a sério e mostre um lado mais descontraído em seus coords. Lembre-se de combinar cores e estampas para que a parte de baixo não roube toda a atenção.

Por fim, se você não estiver confiante para tentar fazer suas próprias combinações, algumas marcas têm meias-calças que são discretamente assimétricas, só o suficiente para serem diferentes. Se não me engano, a Bodyline vende meias "pré-descombinadas" e existem várias tatoo tights com desenhos só de um lado.

Coordinating: Mismatched Socks!

Heey everyone!

I hope everything went well over the holidays. I'm sorry for taking so long to update; I had hoped to start the year with my first traditional January Wardrobe post, but ran into some technical problems, so this post goes first!

Back in the day mismatched socks were more commonly associated with Punk styles and tacky outfits. With the recent tights craze, Grimoire and Lolita brands have started to release tights with asymmetrical designs, bringing back mismatched legwear in a much more elegant way.

This post is for those who want to try out this trend using socks! You can experiment with things you already own, mix, match and mismatch!

♦ Contrasting

One way of doing this is wearing solid color contrasting socks! This brilliant coord uses the basic black and white. 

It works particularly well because the outfit itself features a lot of black and white side by side, so the socks are an extension of that. 

The red accents and the diamond print give it a circus feel, which suits the mismatched socks perfectly. 

The colors of contrasting socks should complement each other and the outfit as a whole.

♦ Mixing Prints
Mixing prints should be done very carefully so that the outfit doesn't become too busy - unless that's your intention! 

If the dress has a print on it, one of the socks may match that print perfectly, and the other may have a more generic pattern.

Or both socks can have simple, traditional patterns (say, on is polkadots and the other is striped) in the same color scheme. 

Matching/similar colors are key. The only thing to avoid is two different, intricate or very busy prints.

♦ Toning Down

If the socks you chose have a strong presence, with a bold print, you may choose to tone it down. 

It is very simple to do and keeps the striking effect, without looking as busy or distracting from the rest of the coord. 

All you have to do is wear one foot with the main design on it, and the other in a plain solid color. 

This should be either the background color of the printed sock or the dominant color of the print itself, so that both socks still match. 




 As you can see, mismatched socks can go with any Lolita sub-style. So don't take yourself too seriously and show a slightly quirky side in your outfits. Remember to coordinate colors and prints so that the legwear doesn't take away from the rest of the clothes.

Lastly, if you're not confident to try your own combinations, a few brands have tights that are discreetly asymmetrical, just enough to be different. If I'm not mistaken, Bodyline sells pre-mismatched socks and there are plenty of tattoo tights with designs only on one side.
